Low Isles
What a great trip. We had 2 (maybe 3) weeks off and despite there been a strong wind warning from the South East and we were planning on going South we headed to Fitzroy Island to wait out the blow. After a few days of relaxing.... of course we had to have a cocktail ....we looked at the weather forecast and decided to head North to Low Isles and then wait for the predicted northely change to head back to Cairns. It was 20(ish) knots on the starboard quarter all the way for a 30nm passage. I can sit and watch the windvane work for hours. Once we set it, we didnt have to touch the tiller until we turned into the lee of Low Isles. And once we did disconnect it we realised how hard it was working.
